Monroe All Smiles for Elimination Round 2

Ish Monroe was literally beaming when he stepped out of the truck at the Nelson Park boat ramp on Pool 7 for Elimination Round 2 of the Jack Link’s Major League Fishing 2016 General Tire Summit Cup on the Mississippi River. Monroe could not contain the excitement behind his big smile.

“Oh yeah, I like this place,” Monroe said. “I’ve spent a lot of time in this pool and it has gott’em. This is going to be fun. I can put all my spinning rods away, get out my frog and go to work!”

In case it was not obvious, one of Monroe’s favorite pools on the upper Mississippi was the one he was about to fish.

“The fish here pack so tight into the smallest areas,” he said. “The guy who hits the right spot will literally catch them every cast for a 100 yards – this place is crazy like that. I’m feeling good right now – I like this!”

Andy Montgomery also was grinning like a Cheshire cat as he nodded his head.
